My Year of Rest and Relaxation
by Ottessa Moshfegh
BORING. This is really the only word I can use to describe this book. The amount of pages that are filled up just by the main character explaining what drugs and how many she is taking is absurd. The ending being about her friend dying in the 9/11 twin tower attacks felt cheap and distasteful just to come to the realization that life is worth living? She had just spent the entire book talking about how much she loathes her.
