kareimer 's review for:
A Great Country
by Shilpi Somaya Gowda
This book is phenomenal - cannot recommend highly enough. Compassionate, insightful, nuanced, powerful. Each character so human and well developed. Nuanced analysis of intersection of being brown, and autistic lead to over-policing. Also rich insights of castism in the United States, a thoughtful and powerful examination of anti-Black racism and classism within BIPOC communities, and a love letter to family love and honouring the humanity and diversity of our families. I loved loved loved this book.
