Quick, funny little jaunt into the world of chickens--which are apparently much smarter birds than I gave them credit for! You can really tell that Sy Montgomery is passionate about not only her flock but chickens in general, and that bleeds through within the print whether she's talking about the quirks of the ones that she's owned or sharing information about the different breeds. You'll definitely walk away from this book with a better understanding of how chickens can actually enrich a person's life, and how they're not actually dumb little birds but in fact have a pretty fascinating social structure and language all of their own.
