Every Last Fear

So let me get this straight: our gen-z high school girl character would never use her cellphone to make a phone call(who does that anymore!), but she has no idea what a deep fake is? And when her best friend uses hyperbole, I’m supposed to believe she just thinks her friend is just using the word ‘literally’ incorrectly? I’m making a formal request for grown adults to stop trying to condescend the next generation through literature.
This book also lost points for inserting a whole section about how FBI work isn’t like it is on TV because agents don’t just spend all their time tracking serial killers one paragraph before the FBI agent spends all her time tracking down a serial killer.
I give it a C- for poor construction and an insufferably transparent plot.
