The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle

4.0

It may sound strange, but what really stuck out to me with this book was the amazing setting. It really gets the imagination flowing, thinking about all those moors, cairns, and neolithic ruins occupied millennia ago, no telling what secrets may lie hidden beneath the surface. It affected me far more than the titular hell-hound, of which we get to see pitifully little.

An engaging, spooky, and well-told mystery all around. Easy to see why it's a classic.
