If you asked me, what is this book about? I would have several answers. It's a lovely portrayal of the strong bond that can develop between a grandfather and his granddaughter. It takes you inside the lives (and minds) of a people who have lived with generations of conflict. It also questions the value and role stories play in a culture, when do the stories help us and when do they become superstitions that hamper us.
