🔮It was one more incredible ghost story by Phil Hickes! It was creepy, tense, thrilling, and spooky. It definitely made my goosebumps running back and forth, and it made me keep the torches on!
🗿The Plot: We keep following a girl named Aveline. She is twelve years old. She is curious and obsessed with ghosts, witches, and all the paranormal stuff. Her mother rents a cottage for the summer holidays. The house is situated beside the stone circle that is also called the Witch Stones. Here, Aveline meets Hazel, a girl of her age who is friendly and intelligent but incredibly mysterious and full of secrets. And here, all the dangerous adventures start.
🔮The Writing Style: This is the second book in the series about Aveline Jones. It was as great as the previous one! It was enjoyable to read, full of suspense and perilous twists and turns. It was written at a fire pace, with every chapter being short, intriguing, and mind-blowing. The story is cleverly written, containing a lot of illuminative facts and notes! It was an absolutely glorious, bookish adventure full of ghosts, secrets, riddles, and touching and heartbreaking moments.
🔮The Characters: The number of characters is not large. I was happy to see Aveline, her mother, Harold, and others again, and I was curious to meet the new ones. All of the characters – the old and new ones – were masterfully portrayed in all aspects. The emotional bridge with the old characters became even more solid, and the emotional connection with the new ones was established from the first lines!
🥰The Fave Quote: "Not all witches have green skin and fly around on broomsticks."
😊Would I read other books by this author: Can't wait!
☘️My humble rating is: 5/5
🔮P.S. "The Bewitching of Aveline Jones" by Phil Hickes impressed me deeply and dropped a huge anchor into my bookish heart as well as the previous one! I still gave the book my high, humble rating because of the way the author wrote about books, adventures, loneliness, and children—it was atmospheric, touching, and heartwarming at the same time.
🥰I sincerely hope you'll enjoy reading "The Bewitching of Aveline Jones" by Phil Hickes as much as I did.
🙏🏼Anyway, thank you so much for dropping by and reading this review.
📖Stay safe, take care, and happy reading.
