I wish, wish, WISH I could give this finale 5 stars because it did indeed have me in tears by the end, but unfortunately we've run into the "third book in a fantasy trilogy turns into war and strategy talks" issue and those are a touch tedious to trudge through. Not quite a big enough issue to seriously knock my enjoyment of literally everything else in the book, thankfully.
I think where this series really shines is the character dynamics (and their individual interiority), and I'm so glad that the gang were (largely) back together for this one.
(Not penalising the book for this minor complaint because I'm sure it's less the author's fault and more an editor's/formatter's/publisher's, but there were a LOT of missing periods at the end of sentences? There were also a couple of instances of odd grammar/punctuation beyond that. Feels like it needed one final pass or was rushed to get it out.)
