This story had all the right elements - good and evil, a beautiful story arc and character growth for the heroine, friendship, and love. Elisa is unique in the literary world maybe but so wonderfully like many of us. It was written by an agentmate and has received awards and nominations, so I read it both because I knew I would enjoy it and because it might inspire me to keep pursuing great writing and storytelling. I definitely got both out of this read.
