Constantine's Sword: The Church and the Jews--A History by James Carroll

4.0

A very thorough history of the relationship between the church and the Jews. It was a difficult read for me, but I have a better sense now of the progression of scripture and how Christian societies used that evolution to keep the Jews at a distance at best, and to destroy them at worst. Even the seemingly innocent presence of the cross acts more of a barrier than a bridge. I learned a lot; I almost feel like I need to read it a second time because there was so much to absorb.
