I knew I needed to read this book and that I was going to learn something valuable from it. But the first half is so unbearably dry. I checked this out at least 4 times before I was able to make it past 30%. Lately my tolerance for a book that feels like this much work is abysmally low. But I had a feeling this would ultimately be worth it. One issue for me was that this book is geared towards people brand new to ethical non-monogamy and attachment theories. The advanced content (the actual application of concepts) doesn’t arrive until the final third. Also I wanted this to be more personal, it reads too much like a textbook for my tastes. But the actual meat of the book is substantial and it gave me some sharp insight into healthy and productive conversations to have in my relationships and ways to manage my own attachment style.
