Bring on the Heat
by Katie Rose
2.5 stars.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
I really wanted to enjoy Bring on the Heat since I love romance books about sports but sadly Bring on the Heat just didn't work for me.
I couldn't connect to the heroine Darcy, I couldn't understand her motives and her behaviour.
Darcy is a house sitter who impersonates the socialite Lydia Logan and what starts as a one time thing become weeks of impersonating Lydia and I just couldn't understand why she didn't come clean with the hero early on.
I really didn't like the hero Chase Westbrook. I thought he was a jerk and a douche!
The fact he
Chase had other jerk moments like taking Darcy home when he knows she is drunk and he even think about having sex with her after she falls asleep "Temptation to possess her anyway flickered through this thoughts. He was certain it had happened to Lydia before, and she probably wouldn't even mind too much. But he Couldn't do it.
He wasn't raised that way, and he liked and respected women enough not to start acting like a jerk now"
If you weren't raised this way why do you even for a moment think about having sex with a drunk woman that is sleeping????
Also Chase started dating "Lydia" just because her grandfather's involvement in the New York Yankees and since he think that dating her will help his career.
I really couldn't understand why Darcy was attracted to Chase and how she forgave him for his behavior.
Overall I didn't enjoy the plot and I didn't like the hero and heroine and didn't feel any real chemistry between them. the writing style didn't bother me so I will give Katie Rose another try hoping the plot and characters will be more to my taste.

broke up with Darcy when the real Lydia shows up and he started dating and sleeping with the real Lydia! I'm sorry but I just don't like heroes that sleep with other woman 2 minutes after they break up with the heroine of the bookChase had other jerk moments like taking Darcy home when he knows she is drunk and he even think about having sex with her after she falls asleep "Temptation to possess her anyway flickered through this thoughts.
