nearlytuna 's review for:
Les Misérables
by Victor Hugo
I’ve been meaning to read this for meant years but never got around to it, I’d picked it up a couple of times, got a chapter or two in, and given up on previous attempts.
This was not a book that compelled me to keep reading, a lot of it was an uphill battle and really tested my determination to stay with my goal to finish every book I start. It took me, realistically, two full months to finish this book - usually I’m a book a day/week kind of gal.
Overall the book is enjoyable, a couple of chapters here and there are elaboration to the extreme, delving into the dark history of Napoleon or the sewerage systems of Europe.. but I digress, and so does this book.
All in all I’m glad I finally read it, but I probably won’t pick it up again.
