This was good, it just wasn’t really what I expected/wanted from the story. After the first novella’s plot being very intertwined with the main characters, having this plot be centered more around another character wasn’t super my thing. I wasn’t expecting a majority of this book to take place outside in the snow either, y’know. But this was still well-written. I just wished it was more about Anna and Charles. One thing I did like though was that Charles’s injuries were realistic and not thrown to the wind to make the story easier. With werewolf books especially I feel it is easy to just say super-healing and move on. I like that Briggs didn’t make him too op for the world. It made for an interesting extra conflict in the plot.
