The Shadows by Alex North

3.0

I got this book at an airport before my travel. I usually don’t read horror books, so I was excited to try something new. I’m not going to lie, I was VERY invested in this book for 2 out of 3 of the parts. The imagery that the author provides was so good, it actually played out like a movie in my head. HOWEVER, the reveal of who was killing the victims and what actually happened to Charlie Crabtree was so nonchalant. It actually was a huge turn off. After learning what happened, it was like the rest of the book was a chore to read. And it has a horrible ending (IMO).
