The Wheel of Darkness by Douglas Preston

5.0

I've seen other reviewers who dislike this one as its seen as a side story which doesn't drive the overall plot of the series and characters very much. I'd strongly disagree as after the intensity of the last three books it was nice to see the characters off on a side adventure which is set in a unique location. The majority of the book takes place on a ship which is an excellent setting offering something new and unique. I enjoy seeing the relationship between Pendergast and Constance develop and see Constance stand on her own as a really likable and unique character. The ending to this one had a lot to offer and left me gasping.
