Controversially…this book didn’t do it for me. It was far from being an outright bad book but by Kleypas standards this was disappointing. Cassandra didn’t feel distinct as a character other than being very beautiful and Tom’s character growth was too little too late for me to enjoy it. The pacing was definitely off and made the book feel like it was set apart from the rest of the Ravenels series. That said, there were many tender Tom/Cassandra moments that made the book worth reading.

Basil was the highlight of the book.
