Suzanne Collins can really do no wrong in my eyes. Her world-building is top-tier. Even with this new addition to the original trilogy, the world of Panem—its history, rules, and values—remain consistent. With a number of beloved characters from the original series, she could have chosen anyone for which to write a story. However, Snow seemed like the most appropriate choice. Despite a significant amount of exposition, the book flowed well and was an easy but engaging read. I have Part 3 to blame for some irresponsibly late reading nights.
Moderate: Alcohol, Panic attacks/disorders, Blood, Animal death, War, Suicidal thoughts, Murder, Death, and Cannibalism
