Note: This review is for volumes 01-16 of the Manga, because I read it all in one go.

1. Normally, I'd start a review off with a summary of the plot but honestly? Horimiya has very little of that. It's basically the hijinks, friendships and love lives of a group of high school seniors. They are all adorable and it's all very wholesome and I had a lot of fun and I laughed a lot. They are all dumbasses and I love them.

2. I was honestly not expecting to like this as much as I did? Most of the early volumes were 4 star books (still cute, but not very memorable) but then I got very attached to my dumbasses and that elevated things to five-star levels.

3. Nobody in this series is a caricature. There are a lot of characters, both boys and girls, and they are all distinct people with distinct personalities. And not one-note personalities either; they are all pretty nuanced (maybe not complex, because that requires plot) people with plenty of traits. Also have I mentioned how they are all dumbasses and how much I love them? Because I feel like I should do that again.

4. I really thought Remi (one of my darling children) was going to be a white lotus-y antagonist at first but no. The story decided to go to a much funnier and adorable route.

5. Friendships! There are plenty of ships (three in the main cast) but there are also just so many relationships between all of the main characters and they are all uniformly adorable? I particularly appreciate how the male/female friendships are exactly as weird and chaotic as the female/female ones and the male/male ones. Wonderful stuff all around.

6. ANYWAY I thought it was all really cute.
