I could quote all 10,000 words I highlighted in this book but you should just go read it. This should be required reading.
And it’s not just stats- she’s given some really good action items to do after reading, so we can all be a part of the solution while understanding the complexities of Domestic violence and the different pieces that go into lowering the numbers of occurrences in the US & the world.

This book is just a starting off point & the author recognizes this. She mentions domestic violence within the LGBTQI community & how it’s much worse than straight/cis folks. But it doesn’t go much further than that recognition.

Understand that this is a very basic breakdown, which is necessary because many of us don’t understand the nuances of domestic violence. But I spent a lot of time contemplating how racism, homophobia, and transphobia, etc, are interwoven with the problem of sexism and domestic violence, while I was reading this.
Lots of strands to untangle.
