thirstygirl 's review for:
Consequences
by Aleatha Romig
A couple of things:
1. A lot of people seem to have mis-tagged this book. It’s not erotica, and it’s not BDSM. Sex acts are not described in detail in this book.
2. Tagging this as a romance does a disservice to the book and to potential readers, imo. While there may be romantic elements in the book, it shouldn’t be read with the expectations of romantic story arc.
With that out of the way …
Anthony. FUCKING. Rawlings.

Wow.
Perhaps I should not have stayed up late to finish this book before going to bed. As it was, I finished this lengthy sucker around 2AM and was then so worked up I couldn’t fall asleep for at least another hour.
Having read Insidious prior to this one, Consequences feels a bit more rough to me, which makes sense since it was written several years earlier; Romig has clearly honed her craft since then. It could have benefitted from some good editing in terms of removing the abundance of details/descriptions in areas that really didn’t move the story along or help support it in a meaningful way. It’s a suspense, but there are places that drag due to the aforementioned filler that some may struggle to get through.
Even so, I found the story intriguing and the way it all came together left me wanting—no, needing—to know how it continues.
