Constellation of the Deep by Benjamin Flouw

4.0

Almost narrative nonfiction, but not quite. More of a deeply chill story of two nature-loving friends, Fox and Wolf. Fox goes scuba diving, trying to find a glowing plant. Along the way he encounters many different plants and animals, and the reader learns about scuba equipment, tide creatures, algae, and coral. There's just a touch of a conservation vibe, but the overwhelming theme is wonder and respect for the natural world.

The only thing that could have put it over the top for me would be a few pages of backmatter. But otherwise this was just the chilliest kind of cool.
