warwriter 's review for:
The Gilded Ones
by Namina Forna
DNF
As soon as I got to the boys being paired with the girls, I thought it was stupid. I know it was meant to create conflict. Also, I didn't like the girl she was partnered with, whose name escapes me. I understand that being "pure" was the most important thing in her life at the time, but the author didn't have to keep ramming it down our throats. I also made the assumption early on that she's going to find out that she's more "pure" than normal people, and proud of her difference, etc.
Not going to bother with the rest of the series. The worldbuilding was excellent, though.
