Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly (Updated Edition)
by Anthony Bourdain
I listened to the audio version of this book which is narrated by Anthony and, while I now want a paperback copy to go back and make some notes, I'm glad I took the time to listen to him tell this story.
Kitchen Confidential is the telling of a Chef's life from stories about Anthony's experiences and general How To chapters, all told in Anthony's strong, confident persona.
This book focuses on the restaurant business. He doesn't talk about his relationship with Nancy much, there are two sections on eating outside the United States, and he only reference being an author vaguely so no talk about how he makes the shift to celebrity chef. This is the part of Anthony I did not know from being a fan of his TV work and it's exactly what I wanted.
Fantastic book.
