Did not finish book. Stopped at 47%.

I wanted to like this book. Asian books are my jam and I was so intrigued by the happenings of the 1950s with Chinese Americans, but this book was SO slow!
I got to pretty much 50% and nothing really had happened.
I tried to keep going, but man, it was boring.
It pains me to DNF this book, but I don’t know I can keep going.
