The Doomed City by Boris Strugatsky, Arkady Strugatsky

1.0

I have read books like this before. Sort of surrealist, sort of Kafka-esque. I don't tend to enjoy them. The last chapter where they go on about building a temple made me actually angry. I found it very frustrating and boring. The afterword by Boris Strutgatsky gives some context as to why it was written the way it was, but for me, it was a long book of mediocre interest that didn't really go anywhere. Wish I had quit reading it much earlier.
