4.5

The only reason this isn’t five stars is because it is a bit too dark for me to make it 5 stars, and it’s a unrealistic. But it is SO GOOD. One of the darkest dark romances I’ve ever read. Mostly because it’s not dark because he’s morally grey or something like that, but what they go through is so messed up.

They’re meant to be together, but things just keep not working out. Dean & Cora 5ever my guys.

I was also PISSED about how Mandy reacted not to them getting together, but their trauma in general. She kept making it about her, and idk why she thought that was appropriate at all?? Like they were beaten, raped, and tortured for weeks and she kept talking about how hard it was for her. Girlfriend you
cheated on him!!!
she had zero right. Ugh she made me mad. I’m so glad Cora & dean took the time to recover as much as they could from their trauma and figure out themselves before latching to each other. Fantastic book.
