A Crack in the Edge of the World by Simon Winchester

4.0

Very good history of not just the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, but all the geology leading up to it, the political, religious, and social implications resulting from it, and a look into the future of earthquakes in the western United States. This read was made even better by the author's voice on the audiobook version, and enhanced by an interview with the author at the end.
