I agree with some of the low-rating-reviewers that this feels VERY similar to Cora’s other books, but I think this is just… her formula? I think that’s the best way to put it. They all follow similar formats, even the 3rd act breakups are all quite similar. But all romance has beats to follow and I’m not going to hold that against the author. It was still an enjoyable read.
And this is where I differ and why I rated much higher — I went into it knowing that Theo asked Logan for sexual favors for tutoring, which is not a good start but they were both consenting adults and Logan could have said no and gotten another tutor. Don’t take their agency away just because you get the ick over their actions. I also felt like it was critical to Theo’s character growth, by the end of the story he felt *terrible* about how he treated Logan and for putting him in that position — and even Logan reassured him he wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t want to.
