The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

4.0

 My Review… 4 ⭐️

This is Riley Seger‘s second novel and it definitely read to me a lot like his first, final girls. This book takes place from Emma‘s point of view as she tries to uncover a case that she had a hand in 15 years ago. Emma takes on the role of amateur detective trying to figure out exactly what happened to her friends 15 years ago.

What worked: I genuinely liked the ending I liked the surprise of the who did it. I liked the fact that the whole time we were being led one way yet it was actually something else. I like Riley‘s writing. The back and forth past to present.

What didn’t work: I feel like this book was a little bit too long, I feel like maybe 50 to 70 pages shorter.

15 years ago, Emma goes to a camp and her three cabin mates disappear one night and I never found.
Now, Emma returns to the same camp to try and find out exactly what happened to her friends. And along the way, mini mysterious things happen.
