Exit, Pursued by a Bear
by E.K. Johnston
So powerful. When I finished this, I hugged it close to my chest and cried.
(Actually, I cried a few times reading this book. "I love you." "I know." me: *dissolves into a puddle of tears*).
It pains me more than words could ever convey that this is an "unrealistic" portrayal of the aftermath of rape because of how much support the victim receives from her family, friends, community and the police. But I'm also so grateful that this book exists.
This book also has my favourite friendship of all time. Hermione and Polly are #squadgoals.
