El-Kurd's poetry tells the story of his, his grandmother's, and his nation's fight for existence. He intentionally doesn't shy away from calling out the violence of Israeli colonization on Palestinians and reminds all readers why Palestinians fight (and why we should be fighting alongside them). A short but very impactful poetry book that I think is important reading at this stage in the Palestine-Israel conflict.
