I was actually very excited to get into this book because it was one I just picked up from the library that I felt drawn to. Now, that being said, it did let me down quite a lot. The characters were incredibly unlikable, which is a fair play considering this is a thriller/horror novel, but it was to the point that I just was ready to either DNF or just push through it to see what happened. Ultimately, I did finish it only because of a wild event that took place and I needed to know how it was going to wrap up. That was the other thing, though. The conclusion, as was most of the plot, was confusing and lackluster for me personally. Though I did find that the writing was sometimes lovely in regards to most of the descriptive bits of the novel, I felt that it needed more from the dialogue itself. I don’t know that I can recommend this one, in all honesty. I think I’d need to read another piece of work from this author to make an confirmed decision.
