This was a really interesting book. I totally thought it was going to be completely different but that's not a bad thing. I'm glad it wasn't a typical alien invasion book. I did start to get a little bored every time Emily was on her own for too long and hadn't talked to anyone for a while. I really enjoyed all the description aside from all the directions. I've never been to New York so the street names and directions meant nothing to me and got a little bit excessive. I thought the book ended in a good spot. I did have some issues with Emily's character. She would flip-flop between being this strong female character to just basically giving up and hoping she went fast. She also did some really stupid things that caused some injuries that could have been avoided. I did mostly like her, though. I will definitely be readying Exodus.
