God I Feel Modern Tonight: Poems from a Gal about Town by Catherine Cohen

2.25

I must admit I am a bit of a hater when it comes to modern poetry. Too often it just reminds me too much of instagram captures. I got a bit of that feeling from this collection too, though there were definitely enjoyable bits. Sometimes a poem would start of beautifully, but then end in a 'lol' or something about diarrhea, and... that's just not what I look for. "Poem I wrote after you helped me assemble my new couch and then broke up with me on it" was a clear favorite, amongs a lot of (too much of) mediocrity.
