The Dinosaur Lords by Victor Milán
2.0

I really wanted to like this book. I was enamored by the cover, by the concept. I even loved the first two chapters. But then it devolved into nothing happening to innumerable, unmemorable characters. It became a slog.

Then there are the little things that irk me about it. Scenes are short and quick-cutting, which gives the book an unwelcome cinematic feel. The characters all have the same voice, more or less. And it doesn't end, it just sets up the next book. And oh yeah!--and I realize this has nothing to do with the author--the dinosaur descriptions and images at the head of each chapter DON'T MATCH! Very confusing.

There's some really neat world-building here, and in all honesty I'll probably give the next book in the series a try, but I was supremely disappointed.
