Things You Would Know If You Grew Up Around Here
by Nancy Wayson Dinan
There’s allegory, and then there’s the endless meandering that this book does. The ending made no sense, the inherent concept even less and the jarring ecological lectures which ostensibly was the purpose of the book did not land at all. Finally, the dad and baby dying was entirely unnecessary and pointless. Which would have made more sense if taht was the point? But it was a lot of people making idiotic decisions, and frankly I’m more annoyed at the end.
