Cosmin begins this novel by essentially sexually harassing Phaedra at work, and somehow, he is the better person in this relationship. Phaedra is supposed to be somewhat of a poorly socialized hothead, but this novel crosses the line to the point where she is actually just a bad person. She is truly unlikable. She is horrible to her friends, horrible to her boyfriend, and kind of just a mean human being. I would also like to go on the record saying I think the author hates women. I have not read a book with this much of a 'pick me' energy since my days on 2012 Wattpad. Phaedra actively hates every other woman in this novel for being into makeup, dresses, or dieting. It's physically jarring to read in the modern era. The only reason this book gets 2 stars is because, while it's not stellar writing, the book is a little bit like watching a trainwreck - it's fun to watch everything go to tell.

Also, this is a *spoiler* but there is a very weird child abuse plot line in this story that I did not enjoy. Mostly because that story does not belong in this novel

Also, this is might be a nitpick, but it drove me up the wall *spoiler* - At one point she calls him babe over the team radio. Transcripts between drivers and engineers is published at the end of races. I thought this would lead to their relationship being exposed to the whole world, but no. Nothing ever came of it. Also, are we going to ignore that this novel ends with the Team Owner dating one of the drivers??? Like publicly?! Are you kidding me. This makes Lance Stroll's reserved nepo baby seat look like a hard fought battle.
