The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli
3.0

“Never attempt to win by force what can be won by deception.”

It's undeniable that Machiavelli had ruthless and impressive ideas about politics, war and leadership. Sometimes, this book was a bit dense for me because I have little understanding of the Florentine Republic and I didn't recognize most of the names that are mentioned in The Prince. It's true that my edition has a glossary at the back, but I think I needed more context before starting this read. My bad.

Overall, I found Machiavelli's political ideas very interesting.

P.S. There were a couple of times in which women were mentioned and Machiavelli said some bullshit machismo. I hated that, I don't care The Prince was written in the 16th century.

“The lion cannot protect himself from traps, and the fox cannot defend himself from wolves. One must therefore be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves.”

P.S.: I'm not English, so if you see any mistakes let me know so I can correct them, please.
