“Okay, get changed. We want to be fashionably late, not asshole late.”

Okay, so here’s the deal (and I really hadn’t intended on making that pun): I loved this book. It wasn’t phenomenal in any way, by any means, but it was entertaining and I was attached to the characters. I loved the relationship, I loved the characters, I loved the book. Hell, the relationship actually developed. But the plot was almost nonexistant. Not completely, but almost. And I didn’t mind that at all.

But then came the ending. It was abrupt and felt rushed and feeble after building up the story for the duration of the entire book. Like, I seriously felt like the author made an unnecessary (and cliche-as-hell) attempt at making a plot magically shimmer into existence or something just for the sake of creating drama. I was completely fine with the earlier approach, I don’t mind books that have little action as long as I like the characters. I really don’t. But the ending just disappointed me. It was super anti-climactic and I was expecting more.

Other than that, I had some issues with the writing at times, but that’s only because of my personal taste. Don’t get me wrong, the writing wasn’t terrible or anything. It was entertaining and easy to read, I just had a minor problem with some of the word choices and stuff at times.

Now, let’s get to the actual point. I think I have a thing for hockey players now? I honestly don’t even know. Blame Garrett Graham. Can you guys recommend some romances where the love interest is a hockey player?

Really though, despite my complaints about the ending, I really enjoyed the story overall and I think that their relationship was beautiful and absolutely adorable to watch unfold, and the beginning and middle were pretty strong for me.
