Would it be a Kate Morton book without a narrative within the narrative? Probably not. This book was solidly average. The plot itself was decent, although at times it was a challenge to keep characters straight. I saw a lot of the plot coming, but that didn't ruin the book at all. It was interesting to see how Morton pieced things together and brought the characters into a single plotline. As with many of her books though, it felt too long at times and could have done without some of the details, particularly towards the middle of the book. I think had this book been ~100 pages shorter it would have been an even better read.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Murder
Moderate: Miscarriage, Suicide, Pregnancy
Minor: Kidnapping
