And Another Thing... by Eoin Colfer

3.0

It was a bit like glorified fanfiction. I forced myself to begin the book optimistically, knowing it would be a completely different author, but it just didn't do it for me. There was waaaaay too much about Norse mythology. I read five books that have earthlings and completely made up aliens and then all of a sudden Thor's hanging around? And I hate to break it to the author, but saying bloody is a British thing, not an Asgardian thing. The summing up of the previous book was nice, and the guide notes were interesting but it should have been a different series or something. I don't expect the writing to be similar but the format? Yes. Speaking of the format, it was bad. But really really bad. There were new chapters and page breaks and lines in between paragraphs. The whole thing was just sporadic. It was like a middle schooler made the book with the intention of making the pages as interesting as possible. Some of the page breaks had titles but some didn't and there were at least two different fonts used for the titles of page breaks. I was confused, but not in the comforting Douglas Adams way I was hoping for.
