the audiobook narrator x author concept was fun and as someone with similar reclusive tendencies to reese, i found her comfortingly relatable. the discussions around addiction and recovery were lightly and respectfully touched on, which i appreciated. i also liked the overall premise of the romance and its focus on finding an understanding partner. it was sweet all around

what i will say, though, is that this felt very insta-lovey, the humour just really didn't click for me, and the characterization of the mains felt kind of inconsistent which made it hard to get invested

also truly brought this on myself, but if i dislike audiobooks that involve sex scenes (which i do) then you fucking bet i dislike audiobooks in which the mc herself is an audiobook narrator who reads sex scenes. though again: this is nobody's fault but my own and hasn't influenced my rating
