The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

4.0

Anyone who has ever felt different, alone, isolated. . . .this book is for you. Even if that's not you, this book is for you. Our main character, Linus Baker, is summoned by Extremely Upper Management at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth to visit Marsyas Island Orphanage where there are six extremely "dangerous" children cared for by their caretaker, Arthur Parnassus.

What Linus encounters will challenge everything about this rule-following quiet man. You will fall in love with each of these children and feel compelled, like Arthur, to keep them safe.

T.J. Klune writes an enchanting and unique world with ease and a sense of humor that reminds me a lot of Douglas Adams. It is one of those books you will want to share with others so they can experience the joy of it as well. Definitely in my top 5 so far this year.
