Jude and Taryn are twins though they do not act similarly. While Jude is fighting for a chance to have power within the Court of Elfhame Taryn is busy falling in love. However little does either twin know that the man the Taryn is falling for is also seeing her twin. Taryn now must confess her secrets and her sins in order to hopefully rebuild her relationship with Jude. Will it be enough?

I debated listening to this novella before listening to the second book in the series. I am super glad that I decided to listen. I have been trying to remember everything that happened during book 1 which I listened to in March and I was struggling to remember everything. This really helped trigger my memory and I’m now even more excited to start book 2.

I enjoyed getting the chance to hear and learn more about Taryn who is portrayed as the nice sister during The Cruel Prince. She became a more well rounded character here and I got the chance to see that what her sisters see is not necessarily who she really is.

I enjoyed the style of writing for the novella. I liked that it read as a letter to Jude for most of the audio book. I have only come across this style of writing one another time and it is something that I greatly enjoyed. I will be honest and say that after listening to this letter to Jude I am not a huge fan of Taryn or the fact that she believes she should be forgiven just because they are twins. I am even more excited to see what will happen next.
