Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea
by Ben Clanton
Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel that has a sense of fun that will appeal to both younger and older child readers. It certainly appealed to my own sense of humour and I unabashedly chuckled and read passages aloud to myself to fully appreciate the story.
In the first story vignette both Narwhal and Jellyfish feel they have imagined the other. Since their imaginations are quite extensive and extraordinary the question arises as to whether or not they can prove they are real to each other.
This may have been my favourite part, but it is one of many that I enjoyed:

This is a perfect book to give to fans of Mo Willems' "Elephant and Piggie" series as well as Jon Klassen's "I Want My Hat Back" and "This is Not My Hat."
(Many thanks to NetGalley, who provided a free copy in return for an honest review.)
