"I suppose villainy, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder."
I came across The Daughter of Time by chance, in one of those little free libraries. It was in terrible shape, to say the least, but it certainly sparked my interest nonetheless, seeing as I'm keen on both mysteries and history itself.
I didn't expect to learn so much about 1480s in England as I did, and I found each character surprisingly well-drawn, each with their own distinct charm.
On the other hand, I think the story would have been more captivating if Grant hadn’t been confined to bed with a broken leg for the entire book, and if the information had been presented more concisely. I also had a hard time remembering the names of certain historical figures, as they were sometimes introduced all at once.
