If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood by Gregg Olsen

4.0

This book is VERY heavy and deeply disturbing. For anyone that read A Child Called It growing up thinking that was bad, this book is even worse and it’s all true! While this book was definitely a page turner, I found myself not able to keep going because of the content. It could be very triggering for some people so reader discretion advised. With that said, Olsen has a crafted a gritty and wicked narrative nonfiction book about the daughters and abuse they endured by their mother, Michelle/Shelly Knotek and her husband David. The mental, physical, and emotional abuse this girls had to go through as well as their many houseguests is nauseating and sick. This book is not for the faint of heart but is an excellent example of true crime nonfiction.
