The Heroine came across as a teenager. It’s rare for me to rate a book lowly because of its Heroine but that’s the case with The Enemy. She was incredibly juvenile despite being 30. She ran from EVERYTHING — seriously everything. And seemed to think that communication isn’t an important part of every single relationship (romantic, familial or platonic).

The humour also felt forced. I didn’t find any of the MC’s interactions with each other funny — it was just the Heroine acting OTT awkward every single scene. I would’ve loved to have seen the banter-y pranks at *throughout* the novel instead of left to that one scene at the end

Also, I loved Jake and Evie’s book The Match and was really bummed their cameo was so superficial. I don’t need the couples from previous books to be popping up everywhere in the book but one (or two) *substantive* scenes (specifically those that get into how their HEA is going) would’ve been greatly appreciated.
