Once Bitten by Heather Guerre

5.0

Simply stunned. I did not see that coming. Intoxicating addition to the Tooth and Claw series.

We start with a sweet budding romance that helps our FMC heal from her emotionally abusive ex-husband. We’re riding along the dopamine wave with our protagonists then we get sucker punched. Of all the scenarios that were threading through my mind up to this point, it was not that. Absolutely shocking and brilliant. Don’t worry, our lovebirds end up with an HEA but they gotta work for it.

Up until book 3 I would classify this series as interconnected standalones. Truthfully, you could read this installment without having read the first two but I highly recommend that you do because we are fed bits and pieces about the wolf kin and strigoi that are beneficial to book 3. It is very clear at the end of book 3 (you do need to read the epilogue) that we are heading for a series arc as there is a mild cliffhanger (not a relationship one). Heather also mentions in her thank you at the end that the next couple books in the series will take place back in Longtooth, the Alaskan town in book 1.
